The festive season is fast approaching, and with it comes one of the most anticipated events on the bayside calendar — the Manly Harbour Christmas Lights Competition. This year, we’re calling on the entire Wynnum Manly community to get involved and help spread the Christmas cheer far and wide!
From beautifully decorated homes and businesses to dazzling boat displays lighting up the marina, the competition transforms Manly Harbour into a glittering wonderland. And with thousands of dollars in prizes up for grabs across multiple categories — including Best House, Best Business, and Best Boat — there’s every reason to let your lights shine bright this holiday season.
This annual event is all about bringing the community together, celebrating creativity, and turning our harbour village into a festive destination for families, locals, and visitors. The lights attract thousands of spectators each year, helping to boost local businesses and showcase our vibrant bayside community.
To promote the event, we’re encouraging residents, business owners, and boat owners to enter the competition and share their efforts on social media using the hashtag #ManlyHarbourLights. Posters, flyers, and window decals will be distributed throughout the area, and a full map of entries will be made available for people to explore the lights trail.
The Manly Harbour Christmas Lights Competition officially launches on Saturday 6 December at the much-loved Celebration in the Park event in Little Bayside Park, Manly, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Come along and get your free photo with Santa. Kellehers Dance Academy will be performing a Christmas dance show and there will be a Christmas Parade starring Santa. Get in the spirit and dress festive – prizes will be awarded for the best Christmas costumes, and a screening of a traditional Christmas movie in the park will be the icing on the Christmas cake!
