The Redlands community is buzzing with excitement as the Banggu Baseball Throwing and Hitting Challenge approaches. The challenge, aimed at discovering talented young athletes aged 10 to 18 years of age, is set to take place at local schools and community centres across Redlands in term 3.
Organised by the Banggu Baseball Academy, the challenge is open to all students, with a special focus on recruiting First Nations youth. Participants will have the chance to showcase their skills in both throwing and hitting, and the most promising players will be considered for scholarships to the prestigious Banggu Baseball Academy.
“We believe that every young athlete deserves the opportunity to explore their potential and pursue their dreams,” says Dean Ainsworth, head junior coach at Redlands Rays Baseball Club and director of Banggu Baseball Academy. “That’s why we are reaching out to local schools to invite your students to participate in our throwing and hitting challenge.”
The Banggu Baseball Academy is known for its experienced professionals and cutting-edge technology, including Pro Play AI for thorough analytics. The immersive training experience prepares players for high-level competition, and the partnership with Down Under Travellers provides players with opportunities to play overseas and potentially compete in the Down Under World Series.
“We’re proud to partner with Bendigo Bank and QLD Workplace Law to provide crucial funding for our programs, including our Indigenous program which promotes baseball to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and helps cover fees and equipment,” adds Ainsworth.
The challenge is expected to draw in a large crowd, including players, coaches, and community members. It’s a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills and potentially earn a scholarship to the Banggu Baseball Academy.
“We’re thrilled to see so much enthusiasm for the challenge, and we’re excited to welcome young athletes from all backgrounds to join us in this celebration of baseball,” says Ainsworth.
The Redlands community can’t wait to see what the future holds for these talented young athletes.
