Brisbane skies will burst into colour on Sunday 24 August, as the much-loved Brisbane Kite Festival returns to the Tingalpa Model Aero Club in the Minnippi Parklands, Tingalpa.

Running from 10:00am to 3:00pm, this free, family-friendly event promises a day of fun for all ages, featuring professional kite flyers, a magician show, thrilling rides, a dedicated kids’ area, and kite sales so children can join in the action and fly their own. Food lovers will also enjoy a great selection of food trucks and a sausage sizzle serving up delicious treats throughout the day.

Proudly organised by the Rotary Clubs of Carindale and Brisbane South-East, the Brisbane Kite Festival continues to be a much-anticipated community tradition that brings families, friends, and neighbours together for a day of joy and connection.

“This is a wonderful day out for families, kite lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy a vibrant community atmosphere,” said Cr Lisa Atwood, Councillor for Doboy Ward. “The Brisbane Kite Festival is always a highlight on our community calendar.”

The venue is wheelchair accessible, and while on-site parking is available, it fills up fast – visitors are encouraged to consider alternative parking on Kate Street and Preston Road in Carina.

So pack a picnic rug, gather the kids, and get ready to look to the skies – the 2025 Brisbane Kite Festival is the perfect day out for the whole family.
