Volunteer organisations across the Bonner electorate are being encouraged to apply for funding through the Australian Government’s Volunteer Grants program.

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 are available to eligible not-for-profit organisations that involve volunteers.

Funding can be used to:

  • purchase communication and insurance items and/or services for all volunteers;
  • purchase specified items and/or services for the main purpose of supporting volunteers under the age of 18 or adult volunteers supporting children;

• purchase specified items and/or services to support volunteer-run activities for the main purpose of supporting children or parents/carers to support a child’s development.

In the last round of Volunteer Grants, $59,994 was distributed to 23 local community organisations across Bonner, supporting grassroots groups and the volunteers who power them.

Federal Member for Bonner Kara Cook MP said the grants recognise the incredible contribution volunteers make to the local community and provide practical support to help organisations continue their work.

“Bonner is home to so many dedicated volunteers who give their time to support others, whether it’s at local sporting clubs, environmental groups, charities, or community organisations. I encourage local volunteer organisations in Bonner to apply for this great opportunity,” Kara Cook MP said.

Local groups interested in applying are encouraged to contact Kara Cook MP’s office to express their interest.
