There’s so much happening in your community this month, and we’re here to help you discover it!

Annually, for the last four years, a colourful parade of people has walked from Lota to Wynnum along the waterfront, and each year, their numbers grow. Such is the impact Richie Walsh’s legacy has on the bayside, and the foundation started in his name, Richie’s Rainbow, is punching above its weight when it comes to fundraising for the fight against children’s cancer.

If you’ve got a few hours to spare on Sunday March 29, join the procession. Your energy will make a difference to cancer research. Find out more about how you can get involved on click here.

Another highlight on our community calendar is Wynnum’s annual Highland Gathering on March 8. If you go weak at the knees at the sound of bagpipes, this event’s for you. It’s a celebration of Scottish culture held close to home at Wynnum, and we’ve featured it as part of our What’s On (see page 6), and there’s a story about the Wynnum RSL Pipe Band on page 34. Our Wynnum Manly Seagulls have also kicked off their season, so don’t forget to check out some top-level local footy up close at Kougari Oval!

Whether you’re joining in, cheering from the sidelines, or just catching up through these pages, we’re glad you’re here. See you out and about!
