Wynnum Manly Leagues Club has once again proven that community is at the heart of everything it does, distributing $68,569 to 20 local not-for-profit organisations through its latest Community Grants Program.

At a recent special presentation evening held at the club, community groups, schools, kindergartens, cultural organisations, and sporting clubs gathered to celebrate their achievements and receive vital funding to support their ongoing work.

Since launching the Community Grants Program in 2016, the club has proudly contributed just over half a million dollars with $502,834.50 to grassroots initiatives that improve lives and foster local connection.

Highlights from this year’s grant recipients include:

  • Schools and kindergartens introducing new shade sails, brain break stations, sports equipment, and outdoor PA systems ensuring students stay safe, supported, and active during learning and play.
  • Clubs and associations upgrading training gear, uniforms, and communication systems, enhancing opportunities for young athletes and volunteers to thrive.
  • Community groups like Bayside Shelter and Winnam Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation expanding their outreach, advocacy and cultural storytelling giving voice and support to those who need it most.
  • Youth-focused initiatives, such as the creation of a teenage retreat space by PCYC Bayside, are helping provide safe, welcoming environments for local teens facing complex challenges.
  • Historical and creative organisations are preserving the bayside’s unique stories and traditions, including the digitisation of archives and the production of community heritage projects.

The club’s ongoing community contribution is made possible by members and guests who choose to support a venue that reinvests into its own backyard.
