On 25 June 2025, Stan and Lorraine Brimson celebrated an incredible milestone – 65 years of marriage. Their anniversary was marked with a special ceremony at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church in Wynnum, followed by a reception at the Shangri-La Lounge.

A larger event was also held to celebrate the happy couple, bringing together family and friends, including their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Among the guests were five members of the original wedding party. It was a joyful time of reminiscing, laughter, and deep appreciation for a life full of love.

Lifelong members of the bayside community, Stan and Lorraine have played a significant role in local life. They worked as caterers with the Royal Queensland Yacht Club and Laura Caterers, and later owned the Laurella Lounge on Florence Street.

Lorraine has been deeply involved in community service – she was a long-time member of ESA, convenor for Meals on Wheels, a member of the Bayside Garden Club and Red Cross, and one of three women who founded the Stroke Association of Queensland.

Stan contributed through Toastmasters, the Wynnum Manly Junior Rugby League Club, and the Jaycees. He also owned Hearing Aud and Earmold Services, providing hearing aids and ear moulds for children with swimmer’s ear.

Together, Stan and Lorraine pioneered a church in Birkdale, served on staff at the Christian Outreach Centre, and pastored Bayside Christian Family. For the past 20 years, they’ve been actively involved with Wynnum Baptist Church.

Their story is one of love, faith, and tireless community service – a true inspiration to all who know them.
