Redland City’s vibrant airwaves are making national headlines! So Bae Party Mix, the much-loved LGBTQIA+ radio program on Bay FM 100.3, has been nominated for Best Non-Commercial Program at the inaugural Australian Audio Awards 2026.

Produced and hosted by Tony Tranter, the intoxicating weekly show stands shoulder-to-shoulder with some of Australia’s most influential broadcasters, including Triple J, ABC National, and SBS – a testament to its creativity, originality, and devoted listenership.

Dubbed a celebration of music, diversity and community, the show has been broadcast live every Sunday night for the past five years, making Bae Party Mix a cornerstone of Redland City’s Queer cultural landscape. The show delivers a high-energy blend of music spanning genres and decades, paired with engaging interviews featuring local rising stars, local legends, national icons, and international divas. With a mission to celebrate diversity and amplify LGBTQIA+ voices, the program has consistently pushed creative boundaries.

In the past year, So Bae delivered an impressive 17 Australian radio-first moments – an achievement that helped secure its nomination in this fiercely competitive category.

A glittering awards ceremony at the iconic Carriageworks in Sydney will take place just prior to this issue going to print, so stay tuned in June for results.
