Deus ex machina: meet the mighty machines that make life grand - The Community Leader and Real Estate New and Views

These days, if you want something done, chances are there’s a machine to do it for you. They’re often whirring away in the background, doing their jobs without complaint (hopefully!) and making our lives easier, and we generally take them for granted.

This month, Redlands Coast Museum is celebrating the magic of machines with its Mighty Machines Day, where history steams back to life through an impressive assembly of powerful machines.

Museum visitors can explore the elegant ironwork of an 1864 Albion printing press, experience the raw power of a 1900 Garrett steam engine, get up close to vintage cars, quarry giants and fire trucks. How cool is that?

The event is a live tribute to the machines that have built communities and connected generations.
The people who preserve them – restorers, volunteers, enthusiasts – will share their passion and the stories behind these remarkable creations at the Mighty Machines Day on Redlands’ Ekka Monday holiday.

We hope you love reading about your community in this edition, and find something that opens a window to a new part of the Redlands.
