Explore N Learn Family Daycare was delighted to welcome the Mount Cotton Road Fire and Rescue Service for our Children’s Protection Week activities.
Educating children about fire safety from an early age is an important part of helping them understand how to keep themselves and others safe. At Explore N Learn, we believe children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences, and having our local firefighters visit gave the children a wonderful opportunity to learn directly from the professionals who help protect our community.
During their visit, the firefighters spoke with the children about fire safety, staying safe during an emergency and the important role firefighters play in helping and protecting people in our community. The children learned more about what firefighters do and why their role matters.
The visit also helped children become familiar with firefighters and understand that they are there to help keep people safe during emergencies. This is particularly valuable for young children, as meeting firefighters and learning about their role can help build confidence and understanding around emergencies.
The children were incredibly excited to meet the firefighters and were engaged throughout the visit, listening and learning about the important work they do.
Local Family Day Care educators and children also joined us, making it a wonderful community experience and allowing everyone to learn and connect.
We sincerely thank the Mount Cotton Road Fire and Rescue Service for taking the time to visit Explore N Learn and share their knowledge with the children. Their visit provided a valuable learning experience and reinforced the importance of fire safety, emergency awareness and knowing who is there to help us.
It was a wonderful morning of learning, community connection and safety education that the children thoroughly enjoyed.
